27.00×1.00 SILICONE 70 Rust O-Ring
27.00×1.00 SILICONE 70 Rust O-Ring

An O-ring is a loop of elastomer/rubber with a round cross-section, designed to be seated in a groove and compressed during assembly between two or more parts, creating a seal.

The O-ring may be used in static or dynamic applications where there is relative motion between the parts and the O-ring. Dynamic examples include rotating pump shafts and hydraulic cylinder pistons.

O-rings are one of the most common seals used in machine design because they are inexpensive, easy to make, reliable, and have simple mounting requirements. They can seal tens of megapascals (thousands of psi) of pressure.

Color: Rust
Hardness: 70
Material: SILICONE
CS: 1.00 mm
ID: 27.00 mm

Physically, silicones are based on silicon, an element derived from quartz. To create this class of synthetic elastomers, pendant organic groups such as methyl, phenyl, and vinyl are attached to silicon atoms. The addition of side chains can achieve significant variations in properties.
