76.00×2.50 FKM/Viton™ 75 BROWN O-Ring
76.00×2.50 FKM/Viton™ 75 BROWN O-Ring

An O-ring is a loop of elastomer/rubber with a round cross-section, designed to be seated in a groove and compressed during assembly between two or more parts, creating a seal.

The O-ring may be used in static or dynamic applications where there is relative motion between the parts and the O-ring. Dynamic examples include rotating pump shafts and hydraulic cylinder pistons.

O-rings are one of the most common seals used in machine design because they are inexpensive, easy to make, reliable, and have simple mounting requirements. They can seal tens of megapascals (thousands of psi) of pressure.

ADD TO QUOTE

Fluorocarbon is a well-known high performance rubber that has excellent resistance to high temperature, ozone, weather, oxygen, mineral oil, fuels, hydraulic fluids, aromatics, and many organic solvents and chemicals.

Properties:
Standard Compound: -26°C (-15°F) to 232°C (450°F)

Special Compound: -40°C (-40°F) to 275°C (525°F)

Hardness: 50 to 90 Shore A

ASTM D1418 Designation: FKM

ASTM D2000 Designation: HK

Standard Colors: Black

Optional Colors:

Production:
Standard FKM compounds are Bisphenol cured. FKM compounds that are peroxide cured possess better resistance to acid solutions, and can replace those that are litharge cured in an acid solution.

Advantages:
FKM rubber compounds perform well in petroleum products, fuels or blends with methanol or ethanol, diesel or blends with biodiesel, mineral oil and grease, silicone oil and grease, high vacuum environments, ozone, strong acids.

Limitations:
FKM rubber compounds are susceptive to amines, ketones, formic and acetic acids, nitro hydrocarbons, superheat steam, low molecular weight esters and ethers, hydrofluoric, chlorosulfonic acids at high heat, Skydrol™ fluids, and phosphate ester based hydraulic fluids.
